A jazz-infused celebration of one of the world’s most adventurous film composers, Ennio Morricone.
Ennio Morricone is acclaimed as one of the most innovative composers of the twentieth century. Loved for his accessible, experimental and contemporary compositional techniques, unconventional instrumentations and use of the human voice as a melodic instrument, Morricone created his own iconic signature sound that continues to inspire musicians today. Prior to his death in 2020 at age 91, Morricone’s film music career spanned 57 impressive years, including scores for the iconic films The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Untouchables, The Mission, Cinema Paradiso and The Hateful Eight.
About the concert
Extasy Morricone celebrates the adventurous side of the composer’s film music from the late 1960s to the early 1980s with a jazz-influenced, psychedelic and progressive collection of vocal songs and lyrics by the great Alberto Bevilacqua, Carlo Nistri, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, Carlo Carunchio, Luciano Lucignani and Maria Travia.
